2021 Inspire Award Winners

Sara Meier

Moore Middle School
Library/Media Specialist
Nominated By: Principal Dr. Gary Czapla

To say Sara is a brilliant, kind-hearted, and generous individual would be an understatement, because she is all of these and so much more! She is dedicated to enhancing the lives of others through reading and education. She is constantly searching for ways to keep students and staff engaged in the numerous learning opportunities and resources available through LPS and the community. She goes beyond the call of duty by anticipating the various needs of those around her and adjusting the culture, environment, and materials she presents to address those needs. She is often incorporating fun educational challenges to incite students’ desire to engage in their own learning experience. Teacher/educator/librarian is not simply what she does, it is who she is. Her presence is uplifting and inviting, evidence of her love for her work. She inspires everyone who knows her to be exactly who they are, to give voice to their authenticity, and to explore their passions. She promotes the growth of emotional intelligence, evoking empathy through the stories she shares and the collection she has curated. She affirms each individuals’ importance in the world, and elicits a sense of belonging. When the school day ends, her commitment to us all does not. She continues exploring different ways to present new ideas and incorporate hands-on activities, discerning the most appropriate methods to keep all students excited about reading and their education. Her dedication to serving those around her and equipping them with the tools they need to live purposeful, fulfilling lives makes her the perfect candidate for the Inspire Award. It is my honor and privilege to work so closely with Sara.
