Students

Resources

All in for kids.

At the Foundation, we work to ensure that students never have to settle because they don’t have the funds or access they need to grow. From providing emergency support to scholarships, we offer a spectrum of resources for students.

  • Students can encourage educators to create campaigns to crowdsource funds for special classroom projects like field trips, specialized equipment, etc.

  • From study abroad to school projects, the Foundation has funds for students to dream big. Funds can be requested for individual, group or faculty-advised projects.

  • We offer scholarships for graduating LPS seniors. The application process is fast and streamlined–apply for 90+ Foundation scholarships with one form.

  • The Career Academy (TCA) Student Tuition Assistance Fund was established in 2015 by community and individual donors. The fund will provide tuition assistance for students enrolled at TCA who are eligible. TCA provides quality career-focused programs that prepare students for continued education and employment that contributes to the economic growth of their community.

  • We work with LPS to help cover fees so that all students have the ability to participate in extracurricular activities. Details on the LPS fee waiver program (pg .17-21) and the form (pg. 57) are located in the LPS Important Information Booklet linked above. Additionally the Foundation provides funds for items not covered in the LPS fee waiver program. Please note, students must have a LPS staff member apply on their behalf for Foundation Student Assistance Funds.

  • The Foundation for LPS can cover the cost of driver’s education classes for students in need.

  • If you would like to take AP or Dual Credit Classes but your family cannot afford the fee at this time please reach out to your principal. Each school has a Fund for Excellence that can be used at their discretion for requests such as this.

  • The Foundations funds unique experiences that are focused on their interests to help hone students’ technical skills. These partnerships with Southeast Community College, The Bay, UNL, Bryan Health, and more give students a head start on their career through dual credit, and challenge them to think bigger.

  • Volunteering for the Foundation is easy, flexible, and, most of all, counts toward your GoPo Hours.

  • Through the Foundation, Assurity Life Insurance Company provides paid internship opportunities and college scholarships to LPS students of color. Interested students should apply in the winter of their junior year of high school.

  • Recently graduated? We offer alumni services like our reunion calendar and feature stories about alumni through our website.
