James Thompson goes above and beyond as the Assistant Activities Director at North Star. One of Mr. Thompson's many responsibilities as Assistant AD is to run the Academic Support program. With Mr. Thompson's leadership, North Star's student athletes have averaged over a 3.6 GPA. He takes the time to get to know our students at a personal level and pushes them to keep improving and to never settle. There is usually a line of students wanting to talk to Mr. Thompson. Mr. Thompson has also been a great leader with our coaches. They reach out to him for advice about coaching but also for advice outside of coaching. Mr. Thompson has empowered students involved in activities to be leaders. Students are taking the initiative to help themselves and others as well as encouraging others to follow the school expectations. Our building has been positively impacted by Mr. Thompson's influence on our students.
