Driver's Education Assistance

Access to Driver's Education

We're removing the financial roadblock for Lincoln Public Schools students wishing to take driver’s safety education classes, but who may lack the funding to do so.

Criteria

We work with three Lincoln driver’s education providers – Road Ready, Nebraska Safety Council and Southeast Community College Driver’s Safety – so that students who meet the following requirements can participate in driver's ed with no out of pocket costs to themselves or their families.

  • Free/Reduced Lunch confirmation
  • At least 15 years old and attending a Lincoln Public School

Amount Awarded

The amount of aid awarded by Driver’s Education Providers will not exceed:

  • $362.50 per student for Driver’s Education Safety Courses, and
  • The cost of a course textbook

Student Requirements

The only thing that will be required from the student recipients will be a thank you to the donor describing how the program will be/was beneficial to their future.
