Dr. John Neal Named Interim President of the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools

The Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools is pleased to announce that Dr. John Neal has accepted the position of Interim President, effective October 1, 2024


Dr. Neal brings a wealth of experience to the Foundation, having recently retired from Lincoln Public Schools after a distinguished 22-year career. His 38-year tenure in public education includes serving as principal and director of secondary education and concluding his LPS career as the associate superintendent for civic engagement. 


Beyond his work with LPS, Dr. Neal has also served as an adjunct professor at Doane University and as a consultant with the Nebraska Association for School Boards. His extensive experience includes holding various administrative, teaching, and coaching positions in other school districts and serving on numerous nonprofit organizations and advisory boards. 


As the Foundation for LPS searches for a permanent President, they are confident that Dr. Neal’s leadership and expertise will be invaluable in guiding and ensuring a smooth transition.
