Marketing Assistant Description

Job Title:   Marketing Assistant

Overtime Status: Non-Exempt   (effective 9/1/17)         Part Time

REQUIREMENTS

A.             Education Level: Bachelor’s degree or attaining a degree

B.             Experience Desired:  Knowledge of social media content creation and analytics, proficiency in Adobe software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc), some video creation and editing, highly organized, detailed-oriented with excellent follow-up skills, ability to manage several projects at once

C.             Other Requirements: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Regular, dependable attendance is an essential function of this position.

REPORTS TO:  Director of Community Engagement

RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM:  President, Office Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Prepare all marketing materials throughout the year.  Includes assisting with writing, developing and designing appeals, advertisements, brochures, flyers, newsletters, event invitations and the annual report.  Includes proofing all items.

Work with Director of Community Engagement to create a social media content calendar.  In charge of maintaining social media accounts, including advertising and analytics.

Working with the Foundation staff to ensure all marketing needs are met. 

Working with media to submit ads, press releases and maintain a media contact list.

Working with vendors to produce and print marketing materials includes obtaining bids

Serve on the Marketing Committee and attend meetings

Assist with maintenance of website.  Includes content updates, prepare copy and compiling photos and graphics

Volunteer 8 hours/year within the LPS system

Other duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Sedentary, sitting, walking, occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending, frequent near vision use for reading and computer use. Rare evening and weekend work is required.  Hours can be flexible with approval from Director of Community Engagement.
