Title: Spark Summer Learning Lead Counselor
Reports to: Program Director, Foundation President
Supervises: Learning Leaders and Learning Facilitators
Description:
This position works with Program Director to ensure delivery of all aspects of Spark Summer Learning program for 2017. The main responsibility is to manage daily program operations from May 25th – August 10th with special emphasis on ensuring student and staff safety while achieving Spark Program goals. This will require a thorough understanding of scheduling, partnerships, employee and family policy. Success in this position will require the ability to preemptively or proactively address program/facilities issues while appropriately communicating or escalating these concerns to Program Director.
Essential Functions:
o Strong understanding of employee policies and procedures to protect the health and safety of students and staff
o Works with Program Director as point of contact for program partners, vendors, parents, and stakeholders. Understands service agreements between site staff, bussing services, nutritional providers, and contacts at field trip venues
o Assists in supervising learning staff
o Assists staff by storing and preparing materials
o Availability: Monday through Friday May 1st to August 10th with the ability to work a shift between the hours of 7 am and 6pm. Regular dependable attendance is a requirement for this position.

Desired Qualifications:
o 1 year experience supervising a group of 5 or more direct reports
o Previous experience with K-5 children in an education or camp setting
o Highly organized and excellent verbal and written communication skills
o Previous operations and administration experience a plus
o Background in and passion for one or more of the STEAM disciplines
o CPR and First Aid training certification
Working Conditions:
Works primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Works 10% of the time outdoors and 10% of the time offsite for field trips. Needs to be able to lift 30 pounds, stand for long periods of time. Uses fine motor
