Excellence & Access

Spark Summer Learning a program of the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools is driven by two words: EXCELLENCE and ACCESS.

A  business case to think younger.

While most business leaders have a significant interest in reaching high school students as they prepare for careers after graduation, we know that they need to reach these students sooner.

Between the ages of 6 and 12, students are forming key opinions around their identity.
Those thoughts directly relate to whether they pursue a career in STEAM Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math or not. That's why we strive to offer STEAM-focused curriculum, but not just any curriculum, the best possible STEAM curriculum in the state of Nebraska.

For us, doing our job means access for all.

Four years into developing a summer program unlike any other, we know we wouldn't be living up to our mission if we failed to address the second part of the equation: access. Currently 33% of our enrollment qualify for free and reduced lunch, the prevailing low income indicator. But our goal is to match the need. Lincoln Public Schools has a free and reduced lunch rate of 47%.

That's where you come in.

Your support means that we can continue to provide the very best STEM summer experience and make it affordable to a student that has the potential for greatness, just not the financial ability to afford them that opportunity.
