What's Happening: Behind-the-Scene Updates on Spark Summer Learning

New start date! Spark will begin June 22. The weekly themes will remain the same as planned for June 22-July 31. If you have questions please reach out to us at info@sparksummer.org, we're here to help.

If you haven't already, please fill out the parent survey sent out last Saturday! Your input will help guide us as we make decisions. We are working with LPS to see if groups will be able to use the facilities or if they will close the schools completely over the summer. Look for an email on Friday that gives updates on criteria for opening, start time and more about location. If you are not on our email list, please let us know by emailing info@sparksummer.org.

The Spark Committee met yesterday to discuss next moves. Please watch your inbox for a parent survey this weekend!

Having a plan A, B, C, D and E, that's how much we want to has Spark this summer! That's also why we are holding off making a decision to the last possible moment. We will notify you all with our decision by Friday, May 15.

As of right now summer is still on! We are busy working on plans that include more handwashing, additional custodial staff, smaller ratios and a back-up location should Adams Elementary and LPS buildings remain closed for the summer.

Spark Staff onboarding begins today! While it's different from last year, all of the meetings are happening via Zoom as of right now, we've found an awesome group of individuals we can't wait to introduce you to.

This week is full of finalizing interviews and hiring staff. All of our staff have a background in education. While some might be pursuing a degree others are familiar faces you would see at LPS during the school year.

We spent the week looking at and updating our Spark Summer Learning training manual for team members to ensure we cover the all of the pertinent info regarding COVID-19.
