Matt Tebo grew up in one of the most beautiful places on the planet: Albuquerque, NM. He is an avid runner and won six high school state championships as an individual and still holds the all-time New Mexico state record for the 2-mile.
He attended the University of Colorado Boulder and began his studies as an integrated physiology major. He quickly realized that his interest in the fine arts was more of a lifelong passion and pursued a degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in drawing. As a member of the CU Track and Cross Country team he was the Big XII high point scorer and earned all-American honors in the 5000m run. The most important thing he did while at the University of Colorado was meet his wife Jessica.
He and Jessica moved to Seattle where he took a job managing the oldest running specialty store in the US. During this time he explored the Pacific Northwest and stayed involved with several youth programs like coaching the Eastlake high school cross country team and directing a series of running camps. After moving to Lincoln in August of 2016, he began an MBA program in Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Nebraska Wesleyan. He and Jessica are expecting a baby in June.
Spark: I am super excited about our World Music unit. I think making instruments is an incredible opportunity to demonstrate the creative link between engineers and artists.
