Myrtle Clark Outstanding Mathematics Educator Award

Award Amount: $1,100

The Myrtle Clark award was established by a former student to honor Miss Myrtle Clark, a former mathematics teacher at Lincoln Northeast High School and Jackson High School. The award is given to recognize excellence in mathematics teaching and provide a source of funding for LPS mathematics educators for summer school courses to advance teaching skills or for the pursuit of an advanced degree in mathematics.

Who is Eligible:

This award is available to Lincoln Public Schools Mathematics Educators.

Criteria:

  • Mathematics educator for Lincoln Public Schools
  • Commitment to excellence in mathematics teaching
  • Interest in pursuing summer school courses to advance teaching skills or an advanced degree in mathematics

Nominating Process:

Nominations may be submitted by any individual or group.  Self-nominations are accepted.

Selection:

The selection committee will be facilitated by the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools Scholarships & Awards Committee, with input from the LPS Curriculum Specialist for Mathematics.
