School: Moore Middle School
Sender: Clair C
Grade: NAMessage No. 00211
As Lesa's husband, I have a different perspective of Mrs. C, the teacher, than the thousands of children she has helped educate over her 30+ year career in LPS. I see a teacher who never just does the minimum, instead going above and beyond to challenge and inspire all in her classroom. I see the teacher who is grading papers, entering grades, and preparing lesson plans for the upcoming week as we are in the car on a weekend road trip. I see a teacher spending large portions of a beautiful fall weekend inside while preparing a presentation to teach other teachers. I see a teacher emailing a response to a student's homework question during the evening hours. I see a teacher who offers her own time, summers included, to help ensure that students and their teachers are prepared to take on new methods of learning using technology in the coming year. I see a teacher who is overcoming the challenges of managing a classroom and remote learners, while all are trying to dodge a dangerous virus. I see a teacher that is approached by former students, parents, or associates no matter where we go in Lincoln because of the respect she has earned during her career. At the end of each day, I see a teacher who has exhausted her mental and physical bandwidth, only to get up and do it again the next day. Thanks for the difference you are making!

Mrs. Coleman, I wanted to thank you because you are the person who never gave up on me. Even though I had some bad days you still helped me and now I feel like I have improved a lot from 8th grade. I have always loved basketball my whole life, but you truly never gave up on me or any of me teammates and you are an amazing coach and teacher. 7th grade health was also very fun too. I don't know where to start and how to even end it, I could go on for days. Mr.Bogus I want to start off by saying, you really are bogus. I appreciate everything you did for me. Letting me come to your classroom when I was upset even if you were teaching class, you would let me sit there because your room was my safe space. I know I got on your nerves a lot, you got on mine as well, put you pushed me to be a better person, and because of that I wanna thank you. I would get so much tardies, then you helped me and got it to a point where I never got tardies. When I would cry and bawl my eyes out, you were there, when I would need help with my work, you were there, when I had really hard days, you were there, when I had happy days you were there, you were always there. You were there at my hardest times and my easiest times. You pushed me to become a better student, and it worked. You actually care. I loved it when we would make fun of each other, and then the next second you would say "Stop speaking, Next one to speak gets a map," and sometimes I would talk to see what happens and then you would stare and then say something. Mr. Bogus you put a big impact on my life that I will never ever forget. Plus your last name is Bogus. But if anyone asks who put a big impact on your life besides your mom and dad, it will always be you Mr.Bogus. Your name is what I will say. I'll get you tickets to my WNBA games. I wish I would be able to say bye to you in person, but I didn't and thats okay. Your students are so lucky to have you, I hope they understand now but if they don't, they will later. You cared about each one of your students so much. You actually connected with us. Btw we love pictures of your daughter, Sylvia. I think I spelt it right. Anyway I hope its going good for you, you and your family. I wish I could go back to my 8th grade year. I miss it so much. That is my favorite year. I wish I got to finish it. Mr.Bogus you have a good life. I will try my hardest to get you to one of those thank you teacher events held at the LPS headquarters or something, because you are the perfect fit for it, they need to know about Bogus. Every year I will put your name. I will try my hardest. Anyway Mr.Bogus, I hope you get this message, Thank you for everything. You changed me. You have the biggest heart.

Grade: Not ApplicableMessage No. 236
Bus Drivers and Paras sometimes are the 'front line' receivers of issues students may be having. Kevin and Katherine heard from a student on the bus of some family problems with transportation and work at home. Instead of ignoring it or thinking someone else would take care of it, they reached out to the administration at the student's school, and through cooperative effort the transportation issue was solved, and they even got the mom in contact with a potential employer. This resulted in big time reduction in stress for the student, who is a middle schooler with younger siblings--and too young to have to bear this burden. Thanks Kevin and Katherine for listening and acting, and thanks to the administrative teams that worked together to make this happen.

Thank you so much for being such an awesome teacher to me! I know how hard it is to talk and explain to us (Zoomers) while a lot of in-person students talk over you! I am so sorry, I wish I could help. But know that you deserve way more than just this small message. I appreciate your hard work to teach all your students!!
