As a relatively new employee at the District Office, I want to express my deep appreciation for the "front line of education during Covid"--teachers and staff. This really hit home when a co-worker described how their husband, who works in custodial services, comes home late all the time from work and is always worried about the kids and other staff. He feels the pressure of trying to eradicate the virus from the learning environment every day, and each day is a new battle against it. A campus supervisor told me how strongly he felt that kids should be in school, and was more than willing to assume some risk to play his part in that process. These are trying times, and there are no easy answers to the problems we face. Without schools, and the myriad of ways that they improve the lives of students and families, I shudder to think how much would be lost for our students, especially those that struggle during the best of times.
Hang in there, and know that the work you are doing really matters. -

I have Sanchez for my 8th period class and it is always a lot of fun. I learn a lot about Spanish, and in fun ways like Gimkit and Peardeck. He makes me want to learn Spanish and to be very good at it. I know that I am going to continue with my learning of Spanish and hopefully take the AP Spanish class because of how helpful he has been and how fun his class is.

I just wanted to thank you for being an absolutely incredible teacher. Your science class was what I looked forward to everyday at school. Your class is what made me appreciate and be more grateful for school. I find science a hundred times much more enjoyable than what I did before. You taught me super well, not only just about science but about life. Your crazy stories in class really lit up everyone's days and I don't know if it was just 7th period specifically or just being in YOUR class, but everyday I could go home and call my day good because I got to sit down in your classroom and be apart of that small family in there. I switched schools for 8th grade, and I think because of how interactive your class was, I was also interactive there as well. You taught me and other people to be strong and look for the positive. I was young and stupid back then, and I still am but after being in your class, I feel a hundred times better about being around people, raising my hand to give an answer, and understanding that mistakes are human and that no one is perfect. You're a fantastic teacher, and even those days it didn't seem like it, I was incredibly grateful and happy to be in your classroom and to be alive with those people around me. So thank you for being amazing.

Dear Sydney Jensen,
You were my favorite teacher, and always helped me when I needed it. You were there when I needed help with my grade, and you made it very easy to enjoy your class. It was always easy to have fun in your class, and you made my freshman year so joyful. I'm so happy I got to meet you and have you as my English teacher. I loved having you and being in class with you.
