Yahsmin Gorji - Carstens Scholarship Recipient

A former LPS student, Yahsmin was encouraged to apply for the Carstens Scholarship by Melinda Burk, her Guidance Counselor. Knowing that she wouldn't be receiving any other financial aid, Yahsmin was excited to apply for the $23,000 scholarship. The scholarship has allowed Yahsmin to attend the University of Wyoming, where she is currently studying Animal & Vet Science and Ag Business. Yahsmin is very active on campus. She is involved in the Ranch Horse Team, the Cowboy Country Swing Club, and the Wyoming Cattle Collegiate.

Yahsmin stated that,"if it wasn’t for the Robert D. Carstens scholarship, this dream I am living wouldn’t be happening! To all seniors who are thinking about applying for this scholarship, GO FOR IT!! Scholarships can be intimidating because you are thinking of all the others who are applying, but as I always told myself, you won’t get the scholarship by not applying, so why not try."
