Picturing U.S. History
Chimney Rock, a South Carolina rice plantation, and Gettysburg are examples of historical sites and re-enactments our students' families have visited and photographed. As we study different time
periods in American history and various regions in the U.S., we ask students to bring in photographs from their trips and share them with the class. This gives the students an opportunity to be
the teacher and talk about an interesting experience they had to learn firsthand about American history. When the student brings the photographs to class, we ask permission to scan the photos, print them on photo quality paper, and record the name of the student so the photos can be shared with other classes and in future years.
