Nebraska History Trek

Students in Grade 3 study the early Nebraskans and the history of Lincoln in Social Studies. A trip to the Museum of Nebraska History at 13th & P Street would enhance this learning. There students can see real artifacts from the early bison, a life-sized model of an earth lodge, and other items from the early Nebraskans. Photographs, drawings and the written word are not as valuable a learning tool as seeing the actual objects. The museum provides that opportunity. This meets Lincoln Public School District Objectives in: Social Studies: "Student will understand similarities and differences among various people." "Student will describe past and present contributions of cultural groups of Lincoln." Admittance to the Museum is free. Star Tran City Bus offers transportation services within walking distance of the Museum and of Saratoga. Fee for the bus is $1.00 per person each way. There are 28 students so $56 is required.
